Your Premier Security system contains a cellular radio transmitter that provides communications to our 24HR monitoring centers. The radio transmitter sends signals over the cellular networks of wireless carriers (i.e. AT&T, Verizon, etc.). They are in the process of updating their systems from 3G/CDMA to newer technologies such as 5G and 4G LTE (Long Term Evolution). When the Premier Security service technician visits you, he will replace the older existing radio of your security with a new radio that will work on the upgraded carriers’ network.
Changing the existing cellular radio is not a do-it-yourself activity. Premier Security requires the upgrade be performed by one of our service technicians. The technician will install the new unit, activate it on the carrier’s network and test communication to our central station.
